Declawing

Declawing cats does not only involve the removal of the claws, but the first knuckle of every finger is amputated. It is equivalent to cutting off your fingers and leaving you with stumps on your palms. When a cat no longer has those front toes, it alters the entire physics of the body including how the cat’s spine acts and ages. When a cat scratches various surfaces, they are not only keeping their claws in good shape, but it is also physical therapy for the cat’s spine. Also note that declawed cats are known to become biters.

These countries consider it extremely inhumane and have made it illegal: England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand.
